Yes Joey, We have added Friday Night Karaoke and Chalupa, (Javier) is the regular host! We are in the process of switching to the same system for Karaoke, and it should be up and running in a couple of weeks. Thanks for your comments and Chalupa thanks you for the compliments!

I was there last Friday for Karaoke and noticed you had a new guy hosting. He did a fantastic job and noticed he was workin with a computer. Is this computer not being used for the other shows? It was a busy Friday and I kinda liked the host but didn't get his namee. He went by li'l chalupa according to the bartender. Where did you find this guy? Not only was he good, has a great personality, and just the friendliest person AND CUTEST LATIN GUY I HAVE SEEN IN DALLAS. Is he going to be there on Fridays? Didn't think you had karaoke on Fridays. If he is there, I will be there every Friday I can. Will he be hosting any other nights? I Liked the new computer system and the song books were updated. I liked that. You shall see me next Friday for sure if he is there.

Hey there, just wanted to say THANKS for the great time that I had down there this past weekend. The Roundup is an excellent place that I could really call home if I ever moved there. The staff was real friendly and the patrons were also. Had a great time and really look forward to coming down there again soon.

Whoa Sam! Back up the buggy! Sounds like yet another rumor is circulating, kind of like "all the Cedar Springs clubs are moving to Oak Cliff?" From the horse's mouth, it ain't so! Whatever you may have heard, NOT HAPPENING! We certainly appreciate your loyalty and concern, but simply put, "WE AIN't GOING NOWHERE!"(pardon the grammar) Sure, we wish we owned the property, but it's not for sale, it has not changed hands. We just finished remodeling our restrooms to serve you better, so enjoy the music, atmosphere, and your friends! We're celebrating 28 years in this location right now! Gary and I see no changes in the forseeable future! Come in and help us celebrate 28 years and kick off 28 more!

I"m hoping that the rumor's I'm hearing, are not true. I'm also hoping, that the Round Up Saloon will in-fact, remain open. Should you have to relocate the night club, I hope it will be to a permanent location with in walking distance or close proximity to the clubs current location of 3912 Cedar Springs, 75219. In which you are able to purchase the property along with the property's improvements. And set the business up in a trust for future generations of women and men to enjoy. Above all, a place to feel included, accepted, wanted and safe. It would be a tragic loss to lose such an important player to our community. Not to mention, an enormous blow to the charities that rely so heavily on the generosity of the Round-up and all of you, the patrons. Perhaps we all should start a fundraiser to help purchase the land and buildings for a nightclub. Make it a community project? In which we all have a stake-in the quality of our entertainment. Perhaps the Round-up Saloon's current owners would be willing to consider or at least ponder the idea, for a moment? We certainly have a model to follow directly across the street, which is Caven Enterprise. Maybe, even make improvements to the Round-Up Saloon's trust that would make just as solvent, if not better, than its neighbor's. Thank you for, giving of your time and giving thought to the future of our home and our unique community and culture. That all of us have worked so hard to improve as well as clean up and make safe. Thank you Sam Cathey ...

Just a quick note to say how much I enjoy the Round-Up Saloon! The staff and customers are always so great at making one feel comfortable with each visit. Being from Nashville, this C/W Establishment is always a must for me, when in Dallas. It would be great if Tennessee had something even close to being comparable, though sadly, it does not. Look forward to my next visit soon! Congratulations for your long history of success!

in response to verdati and gene--i'm so glad that you enjoy the shows with robert.he does try to make his shows very fun and inviting,to the point that i could even go even without singing on the stage just to be around the atmosphere he creates...but singing is fun too...and i know if the roundup ever lost him they would be losing a great asset. keep up the good work "Mr.O."...madame president

Stop the moaning and groaning. I have been going to the parlor for years and people seem to be having a great time with Robert. Those complaining need to hit the road. Maybe you sing once because the parlor gets a little crowded so working people in may take some time. I do not see what you keep talking about and maybe it's because you don't get the attention you think you deserve from the crowd. I thought it was the job of a host to create an atmosphere that was fun and inviting. That is what I see from Robert and Jason. So I say carry your note elsewhere and stop bringing down the good times.

I went out tonight and Robert O. was the karaoke host. I saw what people are talking about when he sings with the karaoke singers. He is not singing over them and he is only audible when the singer drops out or falters. He reminds me of the prompters at the opera who are softly giving the words and notes to the singers as they sing. He is taking *none* of the spotlight away from the singers. I am completely baffled why anyone would pitch a fit over what he is doing. He is a safety net under the singers. When they fall, it is good to have him there to catch them and keep the song going so they can jump back in. He does a good job, keeps it clean (not a single curse-word the entire time I was there), stays sober, and encourages the singers. He's a great catch! Cheers, Gene

I love the new bathrooms. It is great that the mirrors over the urinals are gone! The Round-Up was always a classy place. Now the bathrooms reflect that. Great work and thanks!
