Switch Entire Bar’s CO2 Source TO or FROM a Small Backup Tank

Switching TO a Small Backup CO2 Tank #

Should it be necessary to switch the entire bar’s CO2 supply to one of the small tanks (because the big CO2 tank is empty), perform the following steps, in order:

  1. Notify MOD and obtain permission to make this switch.
  2. If necessary, connect the “small tank” hose to one of the small tanks on the floor in front of the juice rack. Ensure that a washer is installed between the hose connector and the tank threads. Use a wrench to make the connection snug (no need to be a gorilla here).
  3. OPEN the valve on the small tank (rotate the valve counter-clockwise all the way).
  4. When the small tank’s valve is fully open, the needle on the left gauge (the one with red and green regions) should be within the green region. If it’s not in the green (but is well above red) and you just have an hour or so of business left in the night, that tank will probably be okay. Otherwise, swap the tank out with a full tank.
  5. If necessary, adjust the red knob on the small tank’s regulator so that the supplied pressure indicated on the all-white right gauge reads at least 80 psi.
  6. Finally, flip the blue source selector valve DOWN to route the CO2 gas from the small tank to the Bag-in-Box system.
  7. The Bag-in-Box system (and all bar guns throughout the bar) are now being supplied with CO2 from the connected small tank.
  8. Send an e-mail to repairs@roundupsaloon.com about this change in configuration.
  9. Ensure that the MOD logs this change in the Manager’s Log so that Daytime Office Staff can request that the big CO2 tank be filled.
  10. Once the big CO2 tank is refilled, be sure to switch the bar back to the big CO2 tank.

Switching TO the Big CO2 Tank #

Once the problem has been resolved with the big CO2 tank (and you have verified that the tank is full) and you want to switch the entire bar’s CO2 supply back to the big CO2 tank, perform the following steps, in order:

  1. Notify MOD and obtain permission to make this switch.
  2. Flip the blue source selector valve UP to route the CO2 gas from the big CO2 tank to the Bag-in-Box system.
  3. CLOSE the valve on the small tank (rotate the valve clockwise all the way)
  4. The Bag-in-Box system (and all bar guns throughout the bar) are now being supplied with CO2 from the big CO2 tank.
  5. Send an e-mail to repairs@roundupsaloon.com about this change in configuration.
  6. Ensure that the MOD logs this change in the Manager’s Log.
