These measures are to be deployed at close when the overnight low is predicted to be below 25F degrees OR (and as long as) the next day’s high temperature is not expected to get above freezing:
EXTERIOR / PATIO BAR #
- Turn on / Leave on BOTH heaters over the Patio Bar.
- Bar gun supply lines should be shut down via the blue/gray valves only on the non-red-sheathed lines in Juice Room over the CO2 tank and Bag-In-Box system) and each line drained (by pressing each button on the Patio bargun until no further liquid comes out) at the Patio gun.
- NOTE: there are blue/gray shutoff valves on lines that go into red sheathing, as well as on lines over the walk-in – these ARE NOT to be turned off!

- Wrap the bargun with a long faucet sleeve (found in the “Winterizing” box in the Manager’s Office on the shelves over the microwave oven).

- Ensure the water valves for sink faucets (under the Patio Bar sinks) are shut off (the shut-off positions of the valves are shown in the photo below) and the hot and cold faucets at both sinks are opened to drain water from the line.

EXTERIOR / PATIO AREA #
- Turn on / Leave on heater over the flap at Station 1/2.
- Install an insulated faucet cover over the faucet on the patio under the Station 1/2 flap (found in the “Winterizing” box in the Manager’s Office on the shelves over the microwave oven).
EXTERIOR / OUTER WALL FAUCET #
- Install an insulated faucet cover over the outer wall faucet (on the wall outside of the Juice Room, next to parking lot of hair salon next door).

- Ensure the outer wall faucet’s cutoff valve is in the OFF position. The cutoff is in the Juice Room on the wall that’s behind and to the right of the Big CO2 Tank). The valve is in the OFF position (as shown below) when the handle is perpendicular to the water line.

EXTERIOR / GENERAL #
- If winter precipitation is expected, sprinkle ice melt pellets around both the Back Customer Door and the Back Manager Door. These ice pellets should be sprinkled not dumped in mounds please!
INTERIOR / TOOLSHED BAR #
- Leave the COLD water faucet on ONE of the sinks dripping (slowly – around one drip per second).
- Leave the HOT water faucet on the OTHER sink dripping (slowly – around one drip per second).
INTERIOR / HVAC #

- All other thermostats are to be turned off (MODE: OFF / FAN: AUTO).
INTERIOR / MANAGER RESTROOM #
- Leave the hot and cold faucets dripping (slowly – around one drip per second).
MICROS #
- To protect the Micros terminals against “bouncing power” conditions caused by grid brownouts/blackouts or ice-coated electrical lines failing, turn OFF all Micros terminals via this procedure:
- Swipe your Manager Card on the side of each Micros terminal.
- Click the “Minimize POS OPS” button (towards the lower left corner).
- Click the Windows “Start” button, click the Power button, and click ‘Shutdown’.
- Don’t forget to shut down the Liquor Room terminal and the Door terminals.
GENERAL / MISCELLANEOUS #

- Pick up large trash from floors
- napkins
- pens
- trick cards
- fruit
- etc
- Make sure drink rails, dancer boxes and bar tops are clear of the same kind of trash.
- Flush toilets.
- Absolutely no vomit/poop/pee should be left not-cleaned-up!
